About

We built Handi because finding a reliable pro shouldn't be this hard.

Asking friends, scrolling random marketplaces, decoding five-star-or-nothing reviews — we kept running into the same problem. Handi is a two-sided, local-first platform designed to fix it.

Who's behind Handi-za

Handi-za is built by Jean de Dieu Nihorimbere, a Cape Town–based Computer Science postgraduate, after one frustrating realisation: finding a reliable pro in South Africa usually meant scrolling group chats and forwarded phone numbers. There had to be a better way.

We're focused on three things — making it easy to find someone trustworthy near you, keeping reviews tied to real completed jobs, and being human about support. If you ever have a problem with the platform, a pro, or a job, email info@handi-za.co.za and you'll hear back from a person, not a queue.

1

Trust before transactions

Verified phone numbers. Reviews are tied to completed jobs — not just account drive-bys.

2

Local first

We rank pros by how close they are, not how much they paid for placement.

3

Fair to both sides

Seekers can decline gracefully. Providers can browse jobs. Reviews work both ways.

How a job moves through Handi

Full walkthrough →
  1. 1

    Post

A seeker posts a job — title, scope, location, budget.

  2. 2

    Match

Pros that fit ≥ 80% get a notification. Seekers also see a ranked shortlist.

  3. 3

    Choose

Conversations open per pro. The seeker picks one — the others auto-close politely.

  4. 4

    Review

Once the work is done, both sides leave a review. Reputation is tied to completed jobs only.

How we make money

Handi is free during early access. We may introduce optional pro subscriptions or featured listings later — any change will be announced clearly first.

Until then, Handi-za is completely free for everyone.
